I carried on my father's vision in an area that many refer to as paradise, by emphasizing on an exclusive service.
Unique Garden was born from imagination, with dreams within its seeds. They were all there already, encased, so tiny, waiting to burst free in this vast garden.
The history of the Unique Garden begins way before its establishment in March 2005. The seed of our dream was first sown in the safe haven of our family and closest friends, who gathered at Lajota Ranch, a loving acronym for our names: Lara, Jonas, and Tatiana.
The potential of this paradise of native vegetation, which is close to an APA (Environmental Protection Area) of the Atlantic Forest, to aid in the development of my younger sister, who was visually impaired from birth, gave the place's natural beauty an extra dimension. The enormous sensory repertoire that comes from contact with nature was amplified in a journey of stimuli that contributed to Lara's development and of many children who visited our ranch, brought by the Laramara Association - foundation created by my parents to support the cause of vision impairment, combining the names of my sister and my mother, Mara Siaulys.
This is how the hotel's sensory appeal was developed and eventually turned into one of Unique Garden's most distinctive features: it sends a quiet message to every sense of the body, akin to a natural poem that greets us and softly invites us to experience a subtle transformation.
My family’s story is in every detail of the hotel. From the innovative and bold architecture of Ruy Ohtake, a great friend of my father, Victor Siaulys, to his drawing inspiration from the widest range of cultural sources, bridging the East and West, in every new place he designed. My father's passion, boldness, restlessness and curiosity were transmitted to us as if they were part of our genes. We used them to create a variety of settings, including restaurant complexes and the Pandora Spa, with a surprising and affective cuisine.
Every person who runs the hotel on a daily basis is driven by a deep sense of compassion for others and a desire to provide opportunities for personal growth, as my mother accomplished so much through Laramara. This drive is constantly replenished through several socio-environmental initiatives.
We designed the future of Unique Garden with the help of a priceless team and my daughter Camila because of this legacy. Innovating while preserving the essence and values that make up this immense garden, in which peace, culture, art and nature coexist, giving meaning to our existence in an invisible web that unites us through affection.
