The Garden

Unique Garden was born from imagination, with dreams within its seeds to flourish in this vast garden. Everything here is part of an abundant ecosystem that springs from people's hearts, takes root and finally touches us deeply.

Environmental
education and awareness

We have an immense level of responsibility as we stand on an aquifer that is over two billion years old and is surrounded by a lush forest, one of the last remaining strongholds of the Atlantic Rain Forest in an urban area in the country.

That's why the concept of sustainability guides every experience at Unique Garden.

Our legacy to the next generation is to value and preserve all that is green.

Anyone who is drawn to nature will understand that their visit will result in environmental awareness and education.

Projects

The Unique Garden is located on the edges of Itapetinga State Park and spans an area of over 300,000 square meters. The hotel created a number of sustainable initiatives to protect the nearly extinct wildlife and flora of this habitat as well as the biggest and most significant water source that supplies all of São Paulo and the surrounding areas. Some of the initiatives that work together to gradually restore the biodiversity of the Atlantic Rain Forest around us are the monitoring and preservation of native vegetation, the Mantenedouro Conservacionista Tatiana Siaulys area in partnership with the State Secretariat of the Environment, and the Unique Garden Zero CO² Program.

Projetos

There is a corresponding planting of native species from the Atlantic Forest to offset the effects of the hotel’s operations, based on calculations that estimate the quantity of greenhouse gases emitted by events hosted on the hotel's premises.
Established in 2015, the Zero CO²  project aims at the environmental recovery of 120 thousand square meters in Mairiporã, which is the buffer zone of the Itapetinga and Itaberaba State Parks, in the Cantareira System region.
Ten percent of this area has already been recovered/compensated in 2024, and thirty thousand species have been planted.

Projetos

Reforestation is encouraged by having guests plant trees. The project began in 2012, managed by the fitness and gardening team, and was initially implemented along the path behind the flower greenhouse, leading to the Haras lake and Tibet Forest.
Honoring the birthday of Julia Siaulys. 39 seedlings were planted between June and August 2012. In September of the same year, under the direction of the Services department, the project also prioritized contact with guests, who began to monitor the development of the seedlings that had been planted. A link was created to form a narrative.
By December 2018, more than 2,500 trees were spread throughout four large areas: Nymph Forest, Tibet Forest, Haras (lakeside, playground, trail behind the greenhouse, and howler monkey den), and in front of the Main Kennel.

Projetos

The project, which was first established in 2005 as a Conservation Animal Shelter and then changed its name to Wild Animal Shelter in 2007, assists species that have been rescued from animal trafficking but are not ready for reintroduction into the forest. Guests can watch the animals and learn about Brazilian native species as well as the specifics of animal trafficking throughout their stay. Additionally, our team creates environmental awareness programs for children and teenagers in collaboration with local schools.
The Friends of Fauna Program was established in 2018 with the goal of promoting environmental education and highlighting the issue of wildlife trafficking in Brazil.  A lecture and a supervised visit to the animal shelter are part of the program for fifth grade school students enrolled in Mairiporã public schools. Annually, we reach 100% of the students enrolled in this age group, totaling more than 3,000 students.

Projetos

Area dedicated to pesticide-free cultivation of over 100 herbs used in aromatherapy, gastronomy, and therapies. The tea and seasoning preparation workshops begin in this area.

Projetos

The hotel's cuisine offers higher quality, freshness and flavor thanks to its sustainable vegetable cultivation. One example is the Unique Garden's cherry tomato. The fruit ripens to the tune of classical music, and its amazing cultivation is confirmed by its delicious flavor.
The guest can select and harvest food from the greenhouses, vegetable gardens, or orchards to assemble their dishes.

If they so choose, they can also take home a customized basket filled with eco-friendly goods from the hotel, along with bread, cakes, and jams.

Projetos

It should come as no surprise that Unique Garden has maintained the top rating from the Green Kitchen seal ever since 2013. Our light, well-balanced, and delicious cuisine is what wins over customers by satisfying their bodies and surprising their palates with the maximum flavor of fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Similar to how we maintain our hens on a free-range environment, we value the highest level of animal care, which produces eggs with a high nutritional value. This is the art of our affective cuisine.

Projetos

With its own effluent treatment facility, the hotel guarantees water conservation and reuse. Rain and lake water are used to irrigate the majority of the agricultural and landscape modules.

The participation of guests, employees, and every member of the community is crucial for the preservation of our ecosystem, especially in light of the countless initiatives and programs focused on sustainability.
